For me personally, I have dedicated myself to the pursuit of music, and currently do not plan to try get a full time job after finishing university, I plan to maintain a part time job for as long as I need to, and balance my music and sound work, with the part time job, and I will be happy with even not having much disposable income, as long as I have time to work on my music.
However, I have looked into the possible career possibilities within the sound world, and one element that I particularly enjoy is working on scores for movies, or other visual media that could require some sound. I am very keen to work on future film work, however it is not my main focus as I feel my main focus will remain my personal musical projects, and working on projects of others, exploring, collaborating and always creating.
In terms of my own artistic practice and development, I wish to focus on the elements of music that I find most enjoyable such as improvisation, and captured moments such as voice notes and field recordings.
Some other possibilities of sound work that I have found interesting was looking into the possibility of creating soundscapes for runway shows for fashion brands, however it would need to be in the context where they understood the music I make, and where I would be allowed creative freedom, and not need to make something limited.
I also wish to pursue further sound arts work also in terms of mostly performance, but also installation. I think the possibilities of sound arts performances are so open and limitless that it is a very exciting idea, and something that I feel can be explored and developed over my lifetime.
