collaboration – final considerations

I think overall my production goals were based relatively open as I didn’t know much about this unit or how it would go, therefore I did not have any huge goal, however it definitely did not go as I thought it would.

Despite this however, I managed to reach a more relative production goal of feeling that I have given this unit everything I have to give for it personally, and by still managing to make the sounds, get the clip, add the sounds to the clip, and still undergo the whole process of this collaboration with the masters students. I have also still managed to learn a lot from this unit, despite challenges and difficulties.

In post-production we addressed aspects such as fittingness such as how well everything fit where it was, in terms of immersion, perspective and sense of place. We also addressed our different views on our video clip and sounds, and how we thought each sound should be, so that we could best find compromises and balance.

We worked as a team in order to create this piece and to get all the sounds we needed, as well as then placing them with the video to make something that showcased our work as best as possible. We also had to work as a team in making decisions, and in certain people taking charge in different moments, Harry was very good at this in times where we felt lost or slightly directionless and lacking motivation due to not knowing what was going on with this unit, Harry took a (well-needed) leadership in us getting it done.

We have had various problems, rather consistently throughout this unit, however through these problems, and the problem solving that went with (or slightly after) these problems, we managed to overcome all the issues we had, and to learn from them. Our work changed around the problem solving as we had to adapt to the resources, time and communication that we were afforded.
