challenges in process of creation

one of the challenges ive faced has been deciding whether something is as simple/ minimalist as I could like it being, given that im sticking to my idea of finding the furthest out points on a certain axis.

After dwelling on this issue, I realised that the axis does not necessarily need to be a straight like, and that I shouldn’t limit myself because of this idea, to making something just as minimal and simple (or as dissonant and chaotic) as possible, for the sake of the idea, as they should still be within the sub region of my taste, and I decide the bar/ standards for my taste. This was a confusing issue because it led to the thought of how much do I like something for me to say I like it, because I like a wide variety of music, but to differing degree’s, so I decided that the standard of liking for this project needs to be high because overall the project needs to be of a high standard in terms of my own taste.

I won’t place any limits on my exploration as the whole idea is finding new areas further out then I had been before (in the area of my taste) however, when deciding what to include in the project and what to disregard I will limit the sub-region of the field of my taste so that it is only material that I really really like. So that even if I could have made something more minimal/ more simple, or on the other side, more chaotic and dissonant, and still liked it, I will not include it if I don’t still like it as much as I decide I need to.

This way I can still explore and have the music being on the polar opposites of this field of my taste, but since it is all so non-definitive and abstract of an idea, it does not need to be the sonic representation of the definitive border where I wouldn’t like the music at all if it was any further in the direction its in (of minimalism or chaos).
