I have now finished all elements of my aural cultures assignment, and I am happy with the finished work. It is not as in depth or detailed as I would have liked, but if I put any moree information in I think it would be too cramped and fast paced, I think allowing breathing time and the musical interludes helped space the piece, and I also slowed down the whole thing to use my 10 minutes, as it felt quite cramped already before slowing it down slightly. I feel like I managed to include a pretty vast history of hip hop from creation till now (with skipping over many important people and places that I did not have time for) however providing enough context and explanation for the lister to get an idea of what splayed music is and where it comes from, and who is making it right now, which was essentially the goal of the audio paper, to document a movement which has not got much documentation, and which I feel is about to have a great impact on hip hop as a whole in the coming years.
